Lisa was incredibly glad to have private health insurance upon the discovery that she had kidney stones. At just 19 years old, she found a marble-sized kidney stone requiring urgent lithotripsy treatment. Had it moved before being broken up by the treatment, it had the potential to do some serious damage to what was her one good kidney.
Luckily, under her parents’ private cover, Lisa was able to waive the lengthy waiting period and get the surgery done within two weeks. She now has her own private health insurance, as with a history of kidney stones; she knows just how important it is to be covered if something unexpected were to happen.
